Another year end bargain

Following on from my earlier article about end of year savings. Here is an example form the e bike world. I have gone to Rutland cycles and taken a look at todays stock. I have chosen the hugely popular Trek Powerfly 5 e bike. This was one of the most popular e bikes sold in 2019 from the Trek range. You are still able to find a couple of year end deals if you look hard enough. Rutland still have minimal stock available for this little 2019 cracker as well as new 2020 stock. As you can see there is a good saving to be made if you are looking for an e bike.

Trek Powerfly 5 2020

Current price Today 27th September 2019 = £2949

Powerfly 5 comes with the new improved Bosch motor, smaller, lighter and more efficient. A more natural feel when you’re pedaling and less drag when you’re not.

Trek’s RIB Removal Integrated Battery system not only looks super sleek but is also super use friendly. The battery is fully hidden inside the frame to protect it from damage and wear and is easy to remove for charging and storage without the use of tools. It also enables you to mount a bottle cage on the downtube. The Purion controller has a Walk Assist mode, and a variable intelligent eMTB mode that automatically delivers the optimum power assist depending on your terrain. The size S frame features a curve in the top tube to give a lower standover height to smaller riders that need it. The larger sizes have 29er wheels and smaller frames come with 27.5 inch wheels, ensuring a great fit for riders of all heights. The Bontrager Kovee wheels are tubeless ready, so you can convert your wheels to enable you to run lower pressures for more grip on the trail, as well as massively reducing your chances of picking up punctures. Spec’ed with a crisp shifting SRAM Eagle groupset, you can rip through gear confidently as the gradient changes, and with a wide range cassette you’ll never be struggling for a gear when climbing the steepest hills, propelled to the top by Powerfly paired with Bosch.

Again if you look at the specification of these two bikes you will see they are very similar. The new 2020 model Has a  slightly better set of forks, 12 speed SRAM instead of 10 Speed shimano, a new version of the Bosch motor but, the 2019 model has better brakes in my opinion. Both bikes come from the same quality manufacturer and both bikes are good models. You can’t argue with a £500 saving. Both are available from Rutland cycles at the moment but, of course the 2019 will sell out quickly so, if you are in the market for a decent e bike then you better get in quick.
